Georgios Matsoukas

Junior Research Fellow, EU Security and Defence

Georgios Matsoukas was born in Thessaloniki. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Thessaly and is currently completing a Master’s degree in International Relations, specialising in European Integration, at the University of Groningen.

His research interests focus on European defence integration and industrial policy, and the European Union’s role as a global actor. He has worked as an intern at ELIAMEP and at the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he contributed to the task force supporting Greece’s tenure for the United Nations Security Council. He has also collaborated with the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs on a dedicated research project. Most recently, he has been working with the NGO (ComSIL-SL), supporting administrative tasks and funding-related activities.
