Alessandro Ieranò

Alessandro Ieranò is a junior researcher with a Bachelor in History from the University of Milan and an MA in Southeast European Studies from the Universities of Graz and Belgrade. Before joining ELIAMEP, Alessandro was an intern at the Italian “Associazione Trentino con i Balcani” and worked as a Project Assistant at the Belgrade-based European Policy Center (CEP). Beyond EU enlargement, his research focuses on dominant party systems and competitive authoritarianism with a focus on the Western Balkans.

Alessandro is both an Italian and Greek national and fluently speaks English and Serbo-Croatian. He holds basic knowledge of Greek and French
