Alekos Kritikos examines the lessons learned from previous EU Structural Funds and the Recovery and Resilience Facility, highlighting the structural weaknesses of the European framework and the excessive bureaucratic approach to its implementation. He also outlines what needs to change in order to ensure that Member States’ new development plans are approved and implemented in a timely manner, avoiding the delays of the past.
