In the light of the publication of the White Paper and the European Council’s conclusions on European defence, key elements of which are increasing funding to the European defence industry so it can produce more weapons/equipment and a focus on defending the bloc against Russia, Panayiotis Ioakimidis argues that the model proposed does not cover the issue of Greek security.
