O Δρ. Γεράσιμος Τσουράπας είναι Καθηγητής Διεθνών Σχέσεων στο Πανεπιστήμιο της Γλασκώβης. Είναι επίσης επικεφαλής του ERC προγράμματος MOBSANCT (2022–27) το οποίο μελετά τη διπλωματία της μετανάστευσης στην Ευρώπη, Μέση Ανατολή, Νότια και Νότιο-Ανατολική Ασία με χρηματοδότηση από το European Research Council.
Έχει δημοσιεύσει τα εξής βιβλία: The Politics of Migration in Modern Egypt – Strategies for Regime Survival in Autocracies (Cambridge University Press, 2018) και Migration Diplomacy in the Middle East and North Africa – Power, Mobility, and the State (Manchester University Press, 2021). Τα άρθρα του έχουν δημοσιευθεί σε κορυφαία διεθνή επιστημονικά περιοδικά, όπως International Studies Quarterly, European Journal of International Relations, International Migration Review, International Political Science Review, Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies.
Έχει λάβει σειρά διεθνών διακρίσεων. Το βιβλίο του, The Politics of Migration in Modern Egypt, βραβεύθηκε με το ENMISA Distinguished Book Award (International Studies Association, 2020). Έχει επίσης αναγνωρισθεί με διακρίσεις από πλήθος επιστημονικών οργανισμών, μεταξύ των οποίων του American Political Science Association (Best Dissertation on Migration & Citizenship, 2016), του International Studies Association (Martin O. Heisler Award, 2017), και του Middle East Studies Association of North America (Graduate Student Paper Prize, 2015). Επίσης διακρίθηκε με το 2021 ENMISA Emerging Scholar Award (International Studies Association).
Διετέλεσε Fellow στο Center for European Studies, Harvard University (2019–20) και στο The American University in Cairo (2013–14). Σπούδασε Οικονομικά και Πολιτικές Επιστήμες στο Yale University (2006), και πραγματοποίησε μεταπτυχιακές σπουδές στο London School of Economics and Political Science (2007) και στο SOAS, University of London (2016).
