ELIAMEP hosted the programme Syntheseis of Makis Provatas (ERT News), featuring Ino Afentouli, Head of the Geopolitics and Diplomacy Observatory, and Kostas Ifantis, Professor of International Relations at Panteion University and Director of the Institute of International Relations. The discussion focused on transatlantic relations and the new balance that the United States seeks to establish with its allies in NATO. It also examined the implications for European defense stemming from Washington’s declared intention to gradually reduce its military presence in Europe and the expectation that European countries will assume a more active role in security and defense. The consequences of these developments for Greece were also discussed, as well as the role of Turkey within the evolving security architecture.
