11th HO PhD Symposium on Contemporary Greece and Cyprus (LSE, 29 May 2025)

Research Fellow, Panagiotis Barkas, co-authored a paper titled “Assessing the importance of internal audit and ESG factors in mitigating financial risk” (with N. Eriotis, T. Kounadeas, and I. Ploumpis – NKUA), which was presented at the 11^th HO PhD Symposium on Contemporary Greece and Cyprus, organized by the Hellenic Observatory at the London School of Economics on 29 May 2025. The presentation, delivered by co-author I. Ploumpis, explored how internal audit practices and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) factors can reduce financial risk in corporate settings. The Symposium brought together young researchers working on issues related to Greece and Cyprus and provided constructive academic feedback and networking opportunities.
