Reshaping Greek-Turkish Relations: Developments before and after the EU-summit in Helsinki

It would be wrong if the EU were to remain in a passive role, to merely judge, at some future point, Turkey’s observance of the Copenhagen Criteria. Supportive action by the EU must be energized. Embedded in this is the rapprochement between Greece and Turkey. Adequate EU-programmes addressing internal policy and law must assist Turkey in finding its way to meet the Copenhagen Criteria.
