Filippa Chatzistavrou is Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration and a senior researcher of the Institute of European Integration and Policy of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She was researcher at ELIAMEP (2009-2023).

After studying at the Law School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, she completed her postgraduate studies and her Ph.D. in political science at the University of Sorbonne (Université Paris I Panthéon Sorbonne) in 2003. She has previously taught at Paris VII Denis-Diderot University and at the Strasbourg Institute of Political Science, among others. She has been a member of the European Political Sociology Research Center GSPE – CNRS (University of Strasbourg) and a member of the Center for Comparative Analysis of Political Systems of the University of Paris I Panthéon Sorbonne.

She was coordinator and lead researcher, on behalf of ELIAMEP, in the project ‘Towards a Citizens’ Union (Erasmus +, Jean Monnet Actions 2017) and member of ELIAMEP’s research team in the framework of the European program ‘Differentiation, Dominance and Democracy’ ( EU3D Horizon 2020 Program, 2019-2023). Her research interests and publications concern the theory and institutional policies of European governance, European economic governance, interest groups in the European and international policy and European political sociology.
