Ioannis Armakolas spoke on Deutsche Welle’s Albanian edition about the importance of EU enlargement in the light of geopolitical developments and the positive momentum that exists at present. He was in Tirana for the Civil Society and Think Tank Forum that was held in the Albanian capital on 14-15 October in the framework of the Berlin Process, and in which ELIAMEP was participating as a co-organizer for the first time.
Dr Armakolas stressed that the issue of enlargement should not be allowed to stagnate once again, arguing that the EU should learn from the mistakes of the past and find concrete ways to bring the Western Balkans closer to the EU.
