Yorgos Christidis talks about the causes of the current political crisis in Bulgaria.

Ahead of this week’s European Council meeting, he also shed light on the proposals tabled by the French EU presidency with a view to Bulgaria lifting its veto on the opening of accession talks with North Macedonia. He also notes that the virulent reactions which the proposals have provoked from both sides make it extremely unlikely the two nations will reach an agreement.
