The first two-day transnational reflection forum of the EUact2 programme “Towards Democratic and Inclusive Europe: EP Elections and Active Citizens Participation and Contribution” was held in Bratislava, Slovakia, from March 22 to 24. GLOBSEC organized the event in collaboration with European Movement (EM) Ireland, ELIAMEP, and IDM, bringing together young people from across Europe to develop policy recommendations on topics of interest to them.

During the forum, there were three interventions by prominent policy-makers to stimulate  further discussion:  Vladimir Sucha, Head of the EC Representation in Slovakia, spoke about the Russian-Ukrainian War’s implications for the EU;MiriamLexmann, MEP, discussed democracy and the rule of law in the EU, while Tomas Kozak, Director General of the Ministry of the Slovak Foreign and European Affairs, elaborated on the actions the EU should take to adjust to a rapidly changing world.

Around thirty young leaders and professionals gathered to discuss a variety of topics. The forum featured intense discussions in which participants shared their diverse points of view and worked together in working groups. Young people actively participated in the development of recommendations that will be included in the Policy Recommendations Report, which will be distributed to local, national, and EU policymakers.
