In the context of the EPACE-EU (Enhancing Public Awareness and Civic Engagement in the EU) program, the Hellenic Foundation for European & Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP) in collaboration with ESIEA hosted a tailor-made seminar for journalists, entitled “Stucture, Function of the EU and Media Coverage”. The aim of the seminar was to familiarize aspiring journalists with the EU’s architecture and function. These seminars were conducted on 13 and 15 December 2023, at ESIEA.

The speakers for the seminar were Spyros Blavoukos, Professor at the Department of International and European Economic Studies, Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) and Head of the EU Institutions and Policy Programme at ELIAMEP, along with Yiannis Papageorgiou, journalist and member of ESIEA.

The EPACE-EU (Enhancing Public Awareness and Civic Engagement in the EU) program seeks to increase citizens’ awareness and promote civic participation in deliberative democratic processes. The programme aims to enhance citizens’ understanding of the EU policy-making dynamics, especially young people, in an engaging and pedagogically appropriate way.
