Dr. Isabelle Ioannides, Senior Research Fellow at the South-East Europe Programme, was one of the speakers at the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS) hybrid event titled “EU-Turkey relations in a multipolar age: prospects for cooperation” which took place in Brussels on the 23rd of November 2021.
The speakers’ aim was to answer a series of questions such as the following:
– As Brussels and Ankara attempt to project their influence, what interests might they share on this wider geographic scale?
– To what extent can Eurasia-wide cooperation and a clearer Strategic Compass offset the potential for a renewed escalation of tensions in the Eastern Mediterranean?
– And what moves by either side are required to unlock the potential for deeper cooperation?
