Bledar Feta, Research Fellow of ELIAMEP’s South-East Europe Programme and International Relations Expert, participated in both the Young Bled Strategic Forum (Young BSF) and the Bled Strategic Forum (BSF) held in Ljubljana and Bled from 25 to 29 August 2023.

The Bled Strategic Forum is organised jointly by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia and the Centre for European Perspective. This year, the leading conference in Central and South-Eastern Europe was held under the motto “Solidarity for Global Security” and it managed to bring together a global community (political representatives, business leaders, think tanks and NGOs, representatives of international organisations, business representatives, thinkers, and academics) with the aim of exchanging views and creating a sustainable world.

The Bled Strategic Forum has been accompanied and enriched by the Young Bled Strategic Forum. Young BSF is a forum that strives to give youth a voice and a platform to develop their vision in cooperation with their peers from all over the world. This year forum managed to bring together more than 40 participants from different 24 countries from Europe, the Western Balkans, the United States, Africa and beyond. The participants were engaged in enlightening discussions of different topics, ranging from online/traditional media literacy and labor market dynamics to sustainability, security and urban development. In one of its interventions, Bledar Feta made a specific reference to the need to encourage traditional literacy among young children in an effort to enhance their resilience against the online malicious and harmful content when they will become users of internet and social media.
