Ana Krstinovska, published an article on China in the Western Balkans for a special issue of Politique Etrangère (Foreign Policy), the journal of the French Institute for International Relations (IFRI). The analysis focuses on the results of the Western Balkans cooperation with China in the past decade and the reasons and factors leading to the outcomes we see today. It also develops three scenarios for the future based on current global developments, including the war in Ukraine and the tensions between China and the ‘West’, as well as China’s domestic politics.
