France ranked 8th among Mediterranean countries in 2020, allocating 5.5% of its GDP to education. Meanwhile, Israel and Algeria were the top two countries with the highest government expenditure on education (7.1% and 7% respectively). Egypt and Lebanon were positioned at the lower end of the spectrum, with expenditures of 2.5% and 1.7% respectively.
