We continue the series by examining Med countries’ imports and exports for goods, this time focusing on Med trade only with non-Med countries. As per our previous post, France, Italy, and Spain maintain their place as the region’s top three importers and exporters. The overall ranking of the total value of goods traded with non-Med countries remains largely the same when compared to total Med trade. Notably, the deficit reported for Turkey is significantly larger for non-Med trade in goods ($135 billion) versus the total trade in goods ($110 billion).

Note: Analysis produced by Alma Economics based on the most recent data from the UN Comtrade database. Values are shown in 2022 US$, in billions. Due to a lack of available data, the latest available figures were used for Libya (2019). Syria and Algeria were excluded from this analysis due to the unavailability of recent UN Comtrade data.
