On February 9, 2024, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs George Gerapetritis held discussions that featured high-level interagency representation from both countries. At this year’s dialogue, Greece became a signatory of the Artemis Accords, the 35th country to do so. Under the Artemis Accords principles, the United States and Greece affirm their shared commitment to a common vision for peaceful, sustainable, and transparent cooperation in space. From Monday 12 to Friday 16 February 2024, in the context of military cooperation between Greece and the US, a bilateral joint training took place in the wider area of Pieria under the coordination of the Special Warfare Command of the Greek Armed Forces.

On February 18th the floating storage regasification unit in Alexandroupoli received its first test shipment of US liquefied natural gas.

According to a Pulse survey commissioned by Kathimerini, the majority of Greek citizens hold a positive view of the United States’ approach to Greece. They express confidence that the US would engage in ‘a diplomatic and restrained’ manner in the event of a Greek-Turkish crisis.
