Gentiola Madhi works as research and policy analyst at the Italian think tank OBC Transeuropa, focusing on Western Balkans’ EU integration process, regional cooperation and civil society.

Previously she has worked for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Albania, the Municipality of Verona and Helvetas Swiss Intercooperation. Gentiola has an extensive experience as consultant policy researcher for different non-governmental organisations based in Albania, Kosovo, Serbia, Ιtaly and Czech Republic. She has been an active participant in the preparatory meetings and Civil Society Forums organized at the margins of the Berlin Process (2014-2019), contributing with several policy papers and media articles. She holds a Master degree in EU’s International Relations and Diplomacy Studies from the College of Europe (Bruges campus). Previously, she graduated at the University of Florence with an M.Sc. in International Relations and European Studies, followed by a postgraduate annual diploma in Advanced European Studies from the European College of Parma, which focused on the external dimension of EU’s internal policies. Gentiola has been a recipient of KRAF fellowship from Kosovo Open Society Foundation for three consecutive years and a Visiting Research Fellow at EUROPEUM Institute for European Policy in the frame of Think Visegrad Fellowship. Moreover, she has benefited from the fellowship scheme of the Institute for European Democrats in Brussels and the young researchers scheme of the Regional Research Promotion Programme in Albania.

She is native speaker in Albanian, fluent in English and Italian, and has an intermediary knowledge of Turkish and French.
