Natalia Tellidou is a PhD researcher in International Relations at the Department of Political and Social Sciences at the European University Institute (EUI). She holds a Master of Arts in International Studies from the University of Macedonia, Greece, where she specialized on Conflict Studies. During her BA on European and International Political and Economic Studies at the University of Macedonia she was awarded numerous scholarships from the State Scholarship Foundation (IKY). From 2020, she was a DAAD visiting researcher and a DAAD teaching fellow at the University of Trier.
She is currently working on proxy wars – external state intervention in civil wars. Her research interests focus on civil wars with international dimensions, foreign policy in the MENA region and sponsorship relationships. She has previously participated in well-recognized research projects in political science. These projects were funded by the Horizon 2020 Program, the European Union’s Rights, Equality and Citizenship Program as well as the Swiss National Science Foundation. They dealt with a variety of issues in European integration and political economy.
