“The next day will be an interesting one for Greece, whether because forming a government will be a challenge or because VMRO-DPMNE will win. Greece will insist in the rigorous implementation of the Prespa Agreement. A VMRO-DPMNE government will make this more difficult. This is particularly the case when it comes to the new name “North Macedonia”, a change Zaev has been passionately supporting while VMRO-DPMNE denies it. What is more, Greece will soon discover how a less friendly government can undermine the Agreement “softly”, particularly when it comes to the key issues of identity and national narrative.
