“The next day will be an interesting one for Greece, whether because forming a government will be a challenge or because VMRO-DPMNE will win. Greece will insist in the rigorous implementation of the Prespa Agreement. A VMRO-DPMNE government will make this more difficult. This is particularly the case when it comes to the new name “North Macedonia”, a change Zaev has been passionately supporting while VMRO-DPMNE denies it. What is more, Greece will soon discover how a less friendly government can undermine the Agreement “softly”, particularly when it comes to the key issues of identity and national narrative. It is obvious that both Greece and Europe will benefit from a strong Zaev-led government,” argues Ioannis Armakolas in his article for the Sunday edition of “Vima”.
