“No matter how great the political challenges are at the EU level, it is worth trying to re-communalize our bilateral problems (with Turkey), as it is now becoming clear that in several European capitals the non-solution of the Greek-Turkish problems influences the implementation of ad hoc agreements, such as the one on refugees. The alternative of a passive attitude from both Europe and Greece means that the issues will continue to worsen, while militarization of relations with Turkey will absorb a significant share of the country’s economic recovery, whenever this comes,” points out Athanasios Manis in his analysis on lessons learned from the crisis, on Capital.gr.
