On Tuesday 19 September 2023, the third of a series of five online roundtable discussions took place in the context of the project “Civil Society Network in the Context of UN’s Sustainable Development Goals in Greece”, a project funded by the Acf programme and implemented by ELIAMEP together with ICHR.
This event was organised by a working group of NGO representatives (group titled ‘Planet’) and entailed a discussion of the strategy paper the group had produced entitles “Raising awareness about climate change: The environment and SDG 13”.
The roundtable discussion began with a presentation of the paper by Sokratis Grigoropoulos from the Ecological Group of Rodopi, and was followed by commentary on the paper and related issues by Spyridoula Demiri from the Green Fund for Climate Change Actions and the LIFE Programme. A broader discussion then took place among the other members of the working group that were present.
The event, the speeches and the discussion were moderated by Asteris Houliaras, professor of political science at the University of the Peloponnese.
