The Ministries for Foreign Affairs of Greece and Russia co-organized a conference entitled “The political and military dimension of European security: suggestions and prospects”. Among the keynote speakers were the Greek Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Dimitri Droutsas, and the Russian Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs (responsible for European Affairs) Mr. Alexander Grushko. In the first session on “The debate about European security” the speakers were: Ambassador R. Ekeus (former President of the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute-SIPRI), Dr. D. Suslov (Deputy Research Director of the Council for Foreign and Defense Policy and Deputy Director of the Center for European and International Affairs of Russia) and Dr. Thanos Dokos (Director General of the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy-ELIAMEP). The conference took place on May 17th, 2011.
