On Friday, April 3, 2026, Joachim Trier’s LUX Award-nominated film “Sentimental Value” will be screened for free.
The film has won major international awards, including an Oscar and the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival.
The film is a 135-minute drama that tells the story of sisters Nora and Agnes, who reunite with their father, from whom they have been estranged for many years. Their father is the charismatic Gustav, a once-distinguished director, who offers Nora, a stage actress, a role in the film he hopes will mark his return to the artistic world. Nora refuses, but soon discovers that her father has given the role to a young and ambitious Hollywood star. Suddenly, the two sisters are called upon to navigate their complex relationship with their father and coexist with an American star who intrudes on their family’s already complicated dynamics.
A discussion and voting for the Audience Awards will follow.
