Born in Athens. He studied Law in Athens and Criminology in Liège. He was a member of the Athens Bar Association. From 1977 to 2013 he served in the diplomatic service of the Greek Foreign Ministry . For one decade he dealt with Balkan issues and for thirteen years with with issues related to Turkey. He served in Yugoslavia and Turkey and as Ambassador, to FYROM, to the Netherlands, to the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons and to the United Nations and other Interational Organizations in Geneva. He is a Senior Policy Adviser to the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP) and a Member of the General Assembly of the Holocaust Museum in Thessaloniki. He is an Athens Newspaper columnist.
