The Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP) is organizing the first training seminar on Gender Equality Plans (GEPs) in Higher Education Institutions on June 30 – July 1, 2022. The seminar is organized in the framework of the project “Tackling gender inequalities in research and higher education in Greece (GENDRHED)”, which is funded by the Active citizens fund programme.

In the past two years, most universities in Greece have formed and are going to implement Gender Equality Plans (GEPs). These are comprehensive interventions aimed at addressing gender inequalities in higher education and research. The implementation of GEPs is a basic precondition for universities in order to receive funding for research and other projects under the European Commission’s “Horizon Europe” programme (2021-2026).

The purpose of the workshop taking place on 30 June 30 and 1 July is to transfer know-how to members of the university administration, as well as to the academic and research community, in order to support the implementation of Gender Equality Plans (GEPs). It will also provide an opportunity for the exchange of experiences and good practices between Greek universities. The seminar will take place online and will last for 1.5 days (Thursday 30 June 10.00 – 15.15, and Friday 1 July 10.00 – 13.15). It is the first of two training workshops addressed to universities in Greece (the second will be held in January 2023).
