On 15 and 29 March and on 5 April 2022, three closed online information meetings were held in the framework of the project “Civil Society Network in the context of UN’s Sustainable Development Goals in Greece”.

During the meetings the project team (Eugenia Vathakou, Asteris Huliaras, Dimitri A. Sotiropoulos, Alexia Mitsikostas) presented to the participants the objectives and planned actions of the project, which aims: a) to provide in-depth information to civil society organisations on the opportunities created by the SDG platform (objectives, indicators, methodology for planning and implementation); b) to empower organisations on issues of participatory planning and advocacy for sustainable development; and c) to strengthen networking for more effective cooperation in promoting the implementation of the SDGs in our country. Organisations and informal groups were invited to participate in the creation and maintenance of networks on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, so that on this issue the voice of civil society can be heard in a united and effective manner.

In all three meetings the presentations were followed by constructive discussions on the needs of the organisations and groups and their possible role in this initiative.

The meetings were attended by a total of 92 representatives of civil society organisations and informal groups.
