ELIAMEP is organizing an event titled “Climate Resilience in Island Regions and Local Government”, aiming to strengthen public dialogue on climate change and the critical role of local government in island contexts. The event brings together the scientific community, policy-makers, representatives of Municipalities, and social partners, focusing both on key challenges and on implementable solutions related to issues such as water management, infrastructure, the protection of natural and cultural heritage, and the participation of local communities. Particular emphasis is placed on the findings and experience of the European project Pathways2Resilience, under which the SMILE programme is being implemented by ELIAMEP, with the participation of the Climate Change Hub, the Municipalities of Ithaca and Skiathos, and Resilient Cities Catalyst. The overarching objective of the event is to highlight the need for collaborative governance, informed decision-making, and the active engagement of citizens and local communities in building climate resilience. The event will be held in Greek.
