On Thursday 5th of February, the Ministry of Migration and Asylum held a focused meeting with relevant stakeholders that took place in the context of the newly established interministerial and interdisciplinary Working Group for the protection of victims of human trafficking, coordinated by the General Secretariat for Equality and Human Rights. The meeting brought together representatives of relevant ministries, independent authorities, and institutional bodies.

The meeting was organised in partnership with the research project EMBRACE, in which the Ministry is a key partner. Ioanna Giakoumopoulou, EMBRACE Co-Coordinator, began discussion with a presentation on the project, and presentations by E.K.K.A and labour inspectors followed. EMBRACE researcher Marina Nikolova and Co-Coordinator Dafni Basta were also present. The objective of the meeting was to map the current situation regarding human trafficking in Greece and to collect input to support the activities of the EMBRACE project.
