Dr. Elena Lazarou in the Greek-German Think Tank Dialogue

Dr. Elena Lazarou, Director General of ELIAMEP, chaired the panel “Europe’s Defence Awakening: The European Quest for Strategic Autonomy and the ReArm Plan” on 13 November during the two-day Greek-German Think Tank Dialogue (13-14 November 2025) in Berlin, organized by the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP) and the Delphi Economic Forum. She guided a focused discussion with Carolin Thielking, Director of the Planning and Command Staff at the German Federal Ministry of Defence, and Dr. Thanos Dokos, National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister of Greece. The panel explored Europe’s strategic autonomy, defence modernization through the ReArm Plan, and opportunities for enhanced Greek-German cooperation in security and defence policy.
