Following the German elections and the formation of the new government, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation organized a delegation to Berlin on 23-25 June, 2025, comprised of selected think-tank representatives, foreign and European policy experts, and journalists. The purpose of the mission was to cultivate contacts with German political and diplomatic officials, as well as with institutes focused on European affairs, Greco-German relations, and broader international issues.
More specifically, the delegation met with representatives from the Chancellor’s Office, the Foreign Ministry, of the Federal Parliament and especially the Bundestag’s Foreign Affairs Committee, German think tanks and research institutes specializing in foreign and European policy, economic organizations, and journalists.
The delegation also met with Dr. Jörg Semmler, State Secretary at the Federal Chancellery; Ambassador Catalina Cullas, responsible for EU Member-State Relations and cross-border/regional cooperation; Dr. Nicole Renvert, Director of International Markets at the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DIHK); Dr. Stefan Mair, Director and Executive Chair of the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP); researchers from the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP); and Dr. Mark Speich, incoming Secretary General of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation.
ELIAMEP extends special thanks to Ambassador Alexandros Papaioannou, Greek Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany, for warmly welcoming the delegation in Berlin, and to the Konrad Adenauer Foundation for Greece and Cyprus for this outstanding initiative.
