The aim of this project is to inform and raise the awareness <\/strong><\/span>the public and the stakeholders about <\/strong>the importance of the NATO today and to present realistic policy recommendations about the future<\/strong> and the need for Organization\u2019s transformation and adaptation to the new security environment, with a special focus on efforts to combat terrorism, transnational organized crime and trafficking<\/span>. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Specifically the objectives are the following: <\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. To increase awareness and understanding of NATO and its role in global security, with a special focus on <\/span>Southeastern<\/span> Europe, the Black sea and the Mediterranean.<\/span> <\/span><\/li>\n
  2. To involve stakeholders from Greece and three neighbouring member states (Albania, Bulgaria, Romania) into a process of constructive thinking about the Alliance\u2019s future role and contribution;<\/span> <\/span><\/li>\n
  3. To produce an analytical report with concrete policy recommendations about NATO\u2019s contribution in efforts to combat terrorism, transnational organize crime and trafficking;<\/span> <\/span><\/li>\n
  4. To increase cooperation between think-tanks and experts from the four countries involved and contribute to the strengthening of the \u201cBalkan component\u201d of the Alliance.<\/span> <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
