As expected, imports and exports dropped in 2020, but since then, they have recovered and surpassed pre-pandemic levels. In the last two years, imports have increased at a faster rate than exports.<\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Note:<\/strong> <\/span>Analysis produced by Alma Economics based on data from the UN Comtrade database. Values are shown in 2022 US$, in billions. Due to incomplete data for 2023, we conduct our analysis up until 2022.
