It focuses on \u201cExit from Democracy: Illiberal Governance in Turkey and Beyond\u201d, and you can read the editors\u2019 introduction <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tandfonline.com\/doi\/full\/10.1080\/14683857.2016.1253231\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tandfonline.com\/doi\/full\/10.1080\/14683857.2016.1246548\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Murat Somer<\/a> contributes a piece about \u201cUnderstanding Turkey\u2019s democratic breakdown: old vs. new and indigenous vs. global authoritarianism\u201d and\u00a0 the editors of the issue\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tandfonline.com\/doi\/full\/10.1080\/14683857.2016.1253225\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kerem \u00d6ktem\u00a0&amp;\u00a0Karabekir Akkoyunlu<\/a>\u00a0have written an article on \u201cExistential insecurity and the making of a weak authoritarian regime in Turkey\u201d. Moreover, the issue includes a piece by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tandfonline.com\/doi\/full\/10.1080\/14683857.2016.1242872\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cengiz G\u00fcnay &amp; Vedran Dzihic<\/a> on decoding the authoritarian code in Turkey, Macedonia and Serbia, an article by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tandfonline.com\/doi\/full\/10.1080\/14683857.2016.1242891\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">David White &amp; Marc Herzog<\/a> that examines \u201cState capacity in the context of electoral authoritarianism, regime formation and consolidation in Russia and Turkey\u201d, and work from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tandfonline.com\/doi\/full\/10.1080\/14683857.2016.1242893\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Or\u00e7un Sel\u00e7uk<\/a> concerning \u201cpopulism in Turkey, Venezuela and Ecuador\u201d as well as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tandfonline.com\/doi\/full\/10.1080\/14683857.2016.1242204\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bilge Yabanci\u2019s<\/a> piece about Populism as \u201cthe problem child of democracy.\u201d <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tandfonline.com\/doi\/full\/10.1080\/14683857.2016.1233663\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ahmet Erdi \u00d6zt\u00fcrk<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tandfonline.com\/doi\/full\/10.1080\/14683857.2016.1243332\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Demet L\u00fck\u00fcsl\u00fc<\/a> have contributed two interesting articles that analyze the \u201cAKP party\u2019s policies.\u201d The issue also includes pieces concerning the Kurdish issue in articles by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tandfonline.com\/doi\/full\/10.1080\/14683857.2016.1246521\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Omer Tekdemir<\/a> on \u201cConflict and reconciliation between Turks and Kurds\u201d and \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tandfonline.com\/doi\/full\/10.1080\/14683857.2016.1246529\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Michiel Leezenberg<\/a> \u2013 \u201cThe ambiguities of democratic autonomy: the Kurdish movement in Turkey and Rojava\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong><a title=\"You can find here more information\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tandfonline.com\/toc\/fbss20\/16\/4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">You can find here more information<\/a><\/strong>.<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The most recent issue of Southeast European and Black Sea Studies is now available online.
