Economic, social, demographic and environmental problems have a considerable impact on national security. A broader concept of security should be adopted to encompass not only the stricto sensu military aspects (the so- called \u201chigh politics\u201d), but also other aspect such as economic, social, demographic, environmental, etc. (\u201clow politics\u201d).
