The position is offered for<strong> one (1) year<\/strong> with the possibility of extension for one or more additional year(s).<\/p>\n<p>  <strong>SALAR\u03a5<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>  Will depend on seniority and expertise.<\/p>\n<p>  <strong>LOCATION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>  Athens, Greece<\/p>\n<p>  <strong>JOB DESCRIPTION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>  The researcher is expected to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work with the Scientific Coordinator of the \u201cMediterranean Programme\u201d to develop and design the programme\u2019s priorities.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct policy-oriented research; publish policy papers\/ policy briefs.<\/li>\n<li>Write or contribute to publications or disseminate research findings using media appropriate to the discipline.<\/li>\n<li>Write articles for the press and other outlets.<\/li>\n<li>Participate in team meetings, publications and other ELIAMEP activities.<\/li>\n<li>Supervise the programme\u2019s interns.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in the preparation of grant applications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>  <strong>QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>PhD degree in social sciences or humanities (PhD candidates defending within the fall semester of 2022 will also be considered).<\/li>\n<li>The applicant should possess expertise on issues concerning the Mediterranean region.<\/li>\n<li>Track record in the preparation of policy reports.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in organizing dissemination activities as well as conferences, seminars, summer schools.<\/li>\n<li>Aptitude for project management. Experience in managing research budgets is desired.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently and in a team.<\/li>\n<li>Strong organisational and writing skills. Previous experience with EU research programmes and\/or drafting project proposals is desired.<\/li>\n<li> Excellent written and oral communications skills in Greek and English.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>  <strong>DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>  Applications should include a cover letter in English including a detailed statement of research interests, a CV, and the names and contact details of two potential referees.
