The researcher will join an interdisciplinary team under the supervision of <strong>Dr. Kalliopi Amygdalou<\/strong>, head of the HOMEACROSS project.<\/p>\n<p>  The five-year-long research project entitled \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eliamep.gr\/en\/project\/homeacross-%cf%87%cf%8e%cf%81%ce%bf%cf%82-%ce%bc%ce%bd%ce%ae%ce%bc%ce%b7-%ce%ba%ce%b1%ce%b9-%ce%b7-%ce%ba%ce%bb%ce%b7%cf%81%ce%bf%ce%bd%ce%bf%ce%bc%ce%b9%ce%ac-%cf%84%ce%b7%cf%82-%ce%b5%ce%bb%ce%bb\/\">Space, Memory and the Legacy of the 1923 Population Exchange between Greece and Turkey<\/a>\u2019 is funded by the European Research Council (ERC StG, Horizon 2020) and is commencing on 1 February 2021.<\/p>\n<p>  <strong>CONTRACT<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>  Fixed term, starting 1 February 2021. The position is offered for<strong> two (2) years<\/strong> with the possibility of extension for three (3) additional years.<\/p>\n<p>  <strong>LOCATION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>  Greece and Turkey<\/p>\n<p>  <strong>JOB DESCRIPTION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>  The post-doctoral researcher will be based at ELIAMEP but will spend extensive periods of time in Izmir, Turkey. Main responsibilities include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fieldwork (surveying and ethnographic work) in the Izmir province, under the supervision of Prof. Ela \u00c7il (IYTE University).<\/li>\n<li>Archival research in Turkey.<\/li>\n<li>Assistance with bureaucratic procedures in Turkey.<\/li>\n<li>Literature review, writing and analysis.<\/li>\n<li>Participation in the organization of the dissemination activities of the project.<\/li>\n<li>Participation in team meetings, publications and conferences.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>  <strong>QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li> PhD in Architecture, Archaeology or related fields (awarded after January 2014 and before February 2021).<\/li>\n<li> Previous research experience in the areas of architecture, history of architecture, ethnographic work, Greece and Turkey, and\/or architectural\/archaeological surveying.<\/li>\n<li> Strong organisational, research and writing skills. Previous experience with EU research programmes is desirable.<\/li>\n<li> Excellent written and oral communications skills in Turkish and English.
