She holds an LL.M. in Forensics, Criminology and Law, and specialises in the social dynamics of crime, criminalisation, and justice system responses. Experienced in examining the criminal justice system as a socio-politically driven structure, analysing punishment through both punitive and restorative frameworks, exploring the intersection of offenders and victims and delving into their unmet needs.<\/p>\n<p>Sofia has worked in academia (Human Rights Centre, Ghent University) and the third sector in the Netherlands and the UK, focusing on issues such as sexual violence against men in conflict settings and restorative justice.
