L. Mitrou studied law in Athens and holds a PhD in Data Protection (Supervisor Spiros Simitis -University of Frankfurt-Germany). She is Visiting Professor at the Athens University of Economics and Business\u00a0 (Postgraduate Studies Programs: Information Systems Security\/ Data Science\/ Business Analytics\/ Digital Methods for Humanities)\u00a0 and at the University of Piraeus (Postgraduate Studies Programs in Law and ICT Technologies\/ Digital Systems Security). She is President of the <\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Institute for Privacy Law, Data Protection and Technology (IPL)<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">, established by the\u00a0<\/span><b><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/b><span lang=\"EN-GB\">European Public Law Organization (\u00a0<\/span><a title=\"http:\/\/www.eplo.int\" href=\"http:\/\/www.eplo.int\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"0\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">www.eplo.int<\/span><\/a><span lang=\"EN-US\">)\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">and\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">Editor in Chief of \u201cTechnology and Communication Law Journal\u201d<\/span><b><span lang=\"EN-US\">.<\/span><\/b><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0She was Advisor to the Greek Prime Minister Prof. K. Simitis\u00a0 (Information Society, Public Administration\/ Institutions,\u00a0 Independent Administrative\/Supervisory Authorities \u2013 1996-2004). From 1999 to 2003 she was Member of the Hellenic Data Protection Authority and from 2016 to 2023 Member of the Greek National Council for Radio and Television (NCRTV). She was\/is Member\/Chair\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 of many Committees working on law proposals in the fields of privacy and data protection, communications law, e-government, digital governance, artificial intelligence etc. She was Chair of the Greek Delegation in\u00a0\u00a0 DAPIX (Working Group on Information Exchange and Data Protection) for the negotiations of GDPR and LawEnforcement Directive. During the Greek Presidency of the Council of EU (2014) she has served as Chair of\u00a0 DAPIX. Her professional experience includes senior consulting and researcher positions in a number of private and public institutions and projects on national and international level. L.
