During 2015-2020, Eugenia was a permanent Lecturer at the Department of Economics at the University of Sheffield (UK). She has also\u00a0held a Marie Curie Individual Fellowship\u00a0(2018-2020)\u00a0in\u00a0Fundaci\u00f3 MOVE (Markets, Organizations and\u00a0Votes in Economics) in Barcelona, as well as a Max Weber Postdoctoral Fellowship (2013-14) and a Jean Monnet Postdoctoral Fellowship\u00a0(2014-15) at the European University Institute in Florence.<\/p>\n<div>Eugenia\u2019s primary fields of research are in International Macroeconomics and Macroeconomics of Labor Markets. A line of her published work in international peer-reviewed journals examines fiscal policy related issues, such as the response of fiscal policy in the COVID-19 pandemic, the interaction of fiscal consolidation with tax evasion and corruption, the effects of fiscal austerity at the zero lower bound in a currency union, the impact of the public wage bill on private productivity, and the spillover effects of public infrastructure spending. Eugenia has worked also on migration by investigating the interaction of fiscal austerity with emigration in the Greek Depression and the macroeconomic effects of immigration shocks in Germany during the period 2006-2019. She has also co-edited a volume on Understanding Migration with Macroeconomics.
