{"id":26688,"date":"2024-08-06T13:11:59","date_gmt":"2024-08-06T10:11:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eliamep.lncdoo.com\/human_resources\/panagiotis-tsakonas\/"},"modified":"2024-08-06T13:40:51","modified_gmt":"2024-08-06T10:40:51","slug":"panagiotis-tsakonas","status":"publish","type":"human_resources","link":"https:\/\/www.eliamep.gr\/en\/human_resources\/panagiotis-tsakonas\/","title":{"rendered":"Panayotis Tsakonas"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"the-content\"><p>Panayotis Tsakonas is Professor of International Relations, Security Studies and Foreign Policy Analysis at the Department of Political Science and Public Administration, University of Athens.<\/p>\n<p> He studied political science, international relations and security studies at the Panteion University of Athens and Reading University, Great Britain.<\/p>\n<p> He has been Research Fellow at the Institute of International Relations, Athens (1993-96), post-doctoral Fellow at Harvard University (1998-99), NATO Research Fellow (1999-2000), Fulbright Visiting Scholar at Yale University (2003) and Academic Visitor at St Antony&#8217;s College, Oxford University (2015). He has also worked as Special Advisor at the Ministries of National Defense (1996-1998) and Foreign Affairs (1999-2003).<\/p>\n<p> Professor Tsakonas has served as a member of the Academic\/Scientific boards of various institutions in Greece and abroad and as President of the BoD of the Center for Security Studies\/KE.ME.A (2016-2018).<\/p>\n<p> He has taught for fifteen years at the Department of Mediterranean Studies, University of the Aegean and at various Universities and institutions in Greece, Turkey, Great Britain, Germany<em>, <\/em><em>the <\/em>United States and Canada.<\/p>\n<p> His monographs, books, articles in peer-reviewed academic journals, and contributions in edited volumes have been published in Greek, English, German, French and Italian. He has authored\/co-authored and edited\/co-edited ten books. His book: <em>The Incomplete Breakthrough in Greek-Turkish Relations.
