She studied Public Law and Political Science in Greece (Kapodistrian University of Athens) and Administrative Science in France (Universit\u00e9 de Picardie, Amiens) where she received the title of Docteur d\u2019Etat en Science Politique-Science Administrative with distinction. She speaks English, French and Greek and has working knowledge of German and Italian.<\/p>\n<p> She was elected by a special committee of the Hellenic Parliament and served as the Greek Ombudsman (2011-2015) while she had also served as Deputy Ombudsman (2003-11).<\/p>\n<p> She was Robert Schuman Fellow at the European University Institute, Florence (2016), visiting researcher at the Fondation de la Maison des Science des l\u2019Homme \u2013 CNRS (Paris 2018), Universities Paris II and Paris-Versailles (1996), the LSE \u2013 Government Department, the Centre for European Studies, Nuffield College, Oxford (1994) and the Centre des Recherches Administratives (CNRS) Paris (1991)<\/p>\n<p> She has been an advisor at the Ministry of Interior, Public Administration and Decentralization, Advisor of Studies at the National Centre of Public Administration and, inter alia, she cooperates since many years with the OECD (SIGMA, GOV) as a consultant for public administration issues in various countries. She has been member of the Steering Committee of the European Group of Public Administration, President of the Hellenic Political Science Association and member of the Board of the National Center of Public Administration and the National Center for the Environment and Sustainable Development.
