{"id":55491,"date":"2026-03-26T14:09:30","date_gmt":"2026-03-26T11:09:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.eliamep.gr\/?post_type=events&#038;p=55491"},"modified":"2026-03-26T14:09:30","modified_gmt":"2026-03-26T11:09:30","slug":"syzitisi-gia-to-kratos-dikaiou-kai-tin-efarmogi-tou-charti-themeliodon-dikaiomaton","status":"publish","type":"events","link":"https:\/\/www.eliamep.gr\/en\/events\/focus-group-on-the-rule-of-law-and-the-application-of-the-charter-of-fundamental-rights\/","title":{"rendered":"Focus Group on the Rule of Law and the application of the Charter of Fundamental Rights"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"the-content\"><p>In the context of the GRACE project, the <strong>Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP)<\/strong> hosted, on Tuesday, 3 March 2026, at its premises, representatives of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) for a <strong><em>Focus Group on the Rule of Law and the application of the Charter of Fundamental Rights<\/em> <\/strong>in Greece.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the meeting was to facilitate the exchange of insights and experiences with respect to issues touching upon pillars of the Rule of Law and relating to fundamental rights enshrined in the Charter, including freedom<strong> of expression and information<\/strong> and freedom<strong> of assembly and association<\/strong>, as well as issues of <strong>racism and hate speech<\/strong>, which undermine the fundamental principle of <strong>non-discrimination<\/strong>. The discussion highlighted the significant challenges and institutional gaps, but also opportunities for the enhancement of the implementation of the Charter\u2019s rights at national level, as well as for the endorsement of CSOs\u2019 participation during the pursuit of this aim.<\/p>\n<p>The discussion was moderated by <strong>Eva Tzavala<\/strong>, Research Fellow and Coordinator of the GRACE project, and <strong>Fani Stathoulopoulou<\/strong>, Research Fellow.
