The meeting focused on the geopolitical and economic dimensions of dual-use technologies, aiming to initiate a policy conversation ahead of the negotiations for the next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF). Participants examined the fast-paced evolution of dual-use technologies\u2014particularly in emerging fields such as drones and artificial intelligence\u2014which is reshaping international security, competitiveness, and innovation. The discussion highlighted how the interaction between these policy areas will be crucial for the EU\u2019s strategic future. Experts from academia, industry, EU institutions, and national governments took part in this policy-oriented exchange. The Permanent Representative, Ambassador Ioannis Vrailas, delivered the opening remarks. The Director General of ELIAMEP, Dr. Elena Lazarou, moderated the discussion, following a keynote presentation by Mr. Georgios Giannopoulos, Acting Director at the European Commission\u2019s Joint Research Centre. The Deputy Permanent Representative, Ambassador Efthymios Costopoulos, concluded the event by summarising the key takeaways.
