The results of the first nationally representative survey of its kind, conducted across Germany this spring, had already been unveiled to the public in Greece; now, the first presentation and discussion in Germany followed in Berlin.

The survey report forms part of a multi-year research project supported by the Friedrich Ebert Foundation (FES), the German-Greek Club of Bamberg, the German-Hellenic Business Association (DHW), and the German-Greek Association Philadelphia. The event at the Greek Embassy drew considerable interest. Organizers attributed the high turnout to the close collaboration among the leading Greece-focused organizations in Berlin. Supporting the Ambassador’s invitation were, among others, the Greek Community of Berlin – which represents more than 25,000 Greek residents of the capital – Exantas, the German-Greek Society of Berlin, and the Association of German-Greek Societies (VDGG), which brings together more than 30 German philhellenic associations.

On November 17, Dr. Meinardus subsequently presented his work at the University of Bamberg.

[20
