Gathering over 70 speakers from 25 countries and nearly 3,000 participants, this year&#8217;s edition proved to be one of the most impactful to date. RSMed 2025 reaffirmed its role as a crossroads for strategic insight, fostering collaboration and understanding in a rapidly shifting global landscape and in a time of growing geopolitical complexity.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The 2025 edition focused on Strategic Rivalries and Global Power Dynamics in the Mediterranean and Beyond. <\/strong>The conference brought together experts from diplomacy, defense, academia, and industry to explore the evolving roles of major powers, regional tensions, maritime security, European defense, and space policy.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Lazarou participated as a speaker on the panel on <strong><em>Power Rivalries<\/em><\/strong>, held on October 9. The panel examined perspectives on power and strategy of the US, China, Russia, the EU and European states and was moderated by Pascal Ausseur, <em>Director of FMES<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>In her intervention, Dr. Lazarou focused on the tools available to the EU and to its individual member states to leverage power and influence in an environment of shifting geopolitics, great power rivalries, and declining faith in multilateralism.
