Barkas at the EUI"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"the-content\"><p><\/p>\n<div><span dir=\"ltr\">On Monday, May 8th, and exactly 78 years since the Victory-in-Europe Day, Dr. <strong>Panagiotis Barkas, <\/strong>Policy Officer at the European Securities and Markets Authority and Research Fellow at the ELIAMEP Greek and European Economy Observatory, delivered a lecture on the pertinent topic of &#8220;Consumer protection and financial innovation&#8221; at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/company\/robert-schuman-centre-for-advanced-studies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"0\">Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/company\/florenceschoolbankingfinance\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"1\">Florence School of Banking &#038; Finance<\/a> of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/company\/european-university-institute\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"2\">European University Institute<\/a> (EUI). The lecture was part of an online training course titled \u201cGlobal regulatory cooperation: Overview and New Frontiers\u201d for the project \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/company\/eu-supervisory-digital-finance-academy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"3\">EU Supervisory Digital Finance Academy<\/a> (EU-SDFA)\u201d. He shared his thoughts, knowledge and insights on this important topic with a distinguished group of participants and organisers from policy and academia.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span dir=\"ltr\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/reform-support.ec.europa.eu\/what-we-do\/financial-sector-and-access-finance\/eu-supervisory-digital-finance-academy_en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"4\">EU Supervisory Digital Finance Academy (EU-SDFA)<\/a> is an EU Technical Support Instrument (TSI) flagship initiative aimed at supporting financial supervisory authorities in coping with the risks and opportunities associated with the use of advanced technologies in the financial sector. The European Commission has established the Academy in cooperation with the three European Supervisory Authorities (EBA \u2013 ESMA \u2013 EIOPA) and the Florence School of Banking of the European University Institute (FBF-EUI).
