{"id":32605,"date":"2023-04-10T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2023-04-09T21:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eliamep.lncdoo.com\/activity\/i-efarmogi-tis-synthikis-ton-prespon-stis-eborikes-synallages-ioannis-armakolas\/"},"modified":"2023-04-10T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2023-04-09T21:00:00","slug":"i-efarmogi-tis-synthikis-ton-prespon-stis-eborikes-synallages-ioannis-armakolas","status":"publish","type":"activity","link":"https:\/\/www.eliamep.gr\/en\/activity\/i-efarmogi-tis-synthikis-ton-prespon-stis-eborikes-synallages-ioannis-armakolas\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cThe implementation of the Prespa Agreement in commercial transactions\u201d \u2013 Ioannis Armakolas"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"the-content\"><p><\/p>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\"><strong>Ioannis Armakolas<\/strong> participated in the hybrid event, organized on April 4 by the Institute of International Economic Relations (<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">IIER) <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">on the occasion of the publication of a report on the &#8220;Commercial interconnection between Greece and North Macedonia: the Prespa Agreement in relation to trade names, trademarks and brands&#8221;.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">In his intervention, he pointed out that for the outstanding issues \u2013 such as that of trademarks \u2013 of the Prespa agreement cooperation and constructive approach are needed between the two sides, as the Treaty itself offers a &#8220;positive agenda&#8221;, which has not yet been properly reached its full potential also due to lack of political will mainly on the part of the Greek side.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">&#8220;We can always defend our side in terms of legally resolving such issues- for the business world in this case-, but at the same time<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">we must not confuse the wood with the trees.
